John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.
Jesus arose a long while on a daily and prayed to God. It’s a no-brainer that men couldn’t predict what miracle he’d perform on a particular day.
Just when they thought he’d heal another weird disease, He multiplied five loaves of bread and two fish. Now that was totally new! Just when they expected something akin to that, He raised a dead person!
That was not only new, but more glorious than the former! In all this, one thing remained. Jesus’ pattern of prayer. This was his daily predictable pattern, that led to millions of unpredictable miracles that He would do all His life.
This teaches us something;
When you’re predictable in the things of the spirit, you’ll become unpredictable in the things of the flesh. When you’re unpredictable in the things of the spirit, you’ll be predictable in the things of the flesh!
What do I mean by ‘things of the Spirit’? These include praying, reading the Word and everything else the Word advises us to do, for it is spirit!
If every time you pray heaven is shocked that you’re praying, then that’s unpredictable right there!
This cuts across even in the physical realm;
If your boss can’t be sure what time you’ll be in office daily, he can’t trust you with specific responsibilities that could result into your promotion at work!
If your spouse can’t be sure what time you’ll be back home, you can’t expect that number 1 pleasure. I mean; the more she might wait, the faster the excitement to serve you will fade into slumber!
Have you noticed that you brush your teeth every morning? That’s predictable. If you chose to do it at anytime, anywhere, I’m afraid you’d have some consequences.
So…choose today, to be intentional about spiritual activities and you’ll see an upward growth in whatever field it is, just like Jesus experienced!
