Tension breaks out like a wild flame in a land familiar with peace. ‘Remove the dictator’ some say. ‘Where was he when we won it while in the bush?’ Another group yells to the other. And these some what light statements, ignited a war that took on innocent lives of many; who were not even involved.
This reminds me of a story bible scholars are fond of. In the 10th chapter of Exodus, the Lord said unto Moses, ‘Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him.’
You see, I’m brought to a place of belief that even when it feels like dictatorship or cruelty, God is still in control. I’m grateful that the motto for our country is ‘for ‘Him’ and my country’. We dedicated this country to the Lord. It’s His, and He knows what’s best for us.
Proverbs 21:1 says ‘The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.’
The King in this context is our next president. The Church has prayed. The people called by His name have prayed. They have humbled themselves and turned to Him, and sought His face. He healed our land and forgave us our sin. (You saw the rain on the 31st -1st Crossover)
Now His (God’s) eyes are open and His ears have been attentive to the prayers made in this place. He has chosen and sanctified this country, that His name may be here forever; and His eyes and His heart also, here, perpetually!
So, worry not. Rest. Whoever you’ll vote for, whoever it’ll be that will emerge the next ‘king’, be assured of this one thing, that that man’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, and the Lord will turn wherever He wishes.
