Wealth Wins Souls

I had just been fasting and praying the week ending September and ushering us into October, having been led by the Holy Ghost just like Jesus into the wilderness.

Well, I had a presentation for a pitching to a corporation that was in need of our services. I and some young millennials run a social media company that helps many have visible online presence called #LoveWork.

On 2nd October, we had to present our proposal to the client. It was quick. While we did, God asked me to hand some cash to the gateman. After the presentation, one of those who worked there offered my partner and I a lift.

She was totally driving in an opposite direction, so I rejected the offer. I stood outside the gate, as I waited for my safeboda.

The conviction came back stronger; God said, ‘Give the gateman that 5k.’

My safeboda took really long to arrive. God created a scenario where I had no excuse. I turned back through the gate, and blessed the young gentleman.

‘Here,’ I said, ‘Some soda for you.’

His face both brightened up but got confused as well…Now as I went out, a great conviction like I had never felt in my life before overwhelmed me, saying, ‘Ask him if he has received Christ as his personal Lord and savior’

…. EH!

I was really overwhelmed. All this was happening so fast. The truth was, my spirit received the boldness to ask it, but my flesh was not understanding what was going on.

Before I knew it, I was already on the boda… Obviously, I felt guilty, having not turned back. But God whispered once more saying, ‘It is that easy…’

In the book of Acts, chapter 10, we see Cornelius whose generosity provoked heaven. As he prayed & fasted, an angel appeared and said, ‘Your prayers and alms have come up unto God as a memorial.’

He then was asked to summon for Simon Peter. As Simon prayed where he was, he received a vision where God was sending him to the gentiles (non-Jews, who today are equivalent to the heathens) among whom, Cornelius was.

The instruction to go unto them was thrice, symbolizing emphasis by God. It was a law back then, for a Jew not to mix up with someone from another nation, and if caught, one could even be killed for it. Let me carry you on…

Peter ended up in Cornelius’ house. He preached Christ in his entirety unto all those who dwelt with him. As He spoke, the Holy Spirit fell on ALL who were present. Not some but all!

What that means is, they began to pray in other tongues. Now I want you to know that men those days lived in huge numbers. Abraham had an army in his household. That means he was feeding not less than a 1000 people. Isn’t that bigger than some clans?

In the same way, I am picturing that Cornelius had maybe 100 people in his house; Extended family and all. Perhaps 100 others were half time workers staying in their own homes and then on this day they came around having invited their personal friends, one each; bringing the number to perhaps 300 people.

Maybe some passersby thought there was a party, so they found themselves reposing by as well. Imagine that number came to 400.Now, imagine on with me; Peter is speaking and all these 400 receive the gift of tongues. My God, hell is in unforeseen danger!

These were later baptized by water. This is a ceremony performed, equivalent to a couple wearing a ring to represent the truth that they are married. Baptism meant in other words, ‘I am not ashamed to tell you that I’m married to Jesus’ or ‘This is a sign that I have been washed of all my sin by the one and only Jesus.’

Generally, it’s an act that happens after someone accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and savior. IMAGINE 400 PEOPLE DOING THIS IN ONE DAY!Oh, it was a glorious day—a party in heaven, but how did this start again? A certain man kept being generous with his riches! His generosity has just caused the redemption of 400 lives; and each of those will go on ahead to win more souls unto the kingdom.

Do you now understand why I could easily ask the gateman if he was born again? Generosity! Do you know why it’s easy for missional communities to fish in not less than 100 souls per week? Generosity is what they begin with; carrying utilities to disadvantaged men and women. Acts of kindness soften their hearts to get to know this generous God that touched your heart to think about them.

Beyond that, perhaps most of you are still struggling to get your family members saved. Look at Cornelius. He not only prayed, but He GAVE as well. NOTICE AS WELL THAT SIMON BROKE A LAW TO MIX UP WITH ‘NON-JEWS’…God will break so many traditions just to reach your loved ones!

Don’t grow weary to give to church causes therefore. Don’t tire to give mere offertory in your local church; You are building up a memorial to God. Don’t complain about tithe. Increase it to 20% even.

That alone can pave a way for your relatives deep in the village to have God send them a man that will preach to them where you were not fully available. Your Generosity to church building will cause tongues to locate that friend who has tried for so long, but never was successful.

I’m not saying, that some of these things can’t happen unless you give. I want you to be aware rather, of how much time you can redeem when you give. By prayer alone, it could take perhaps 10 or 20 or 50 years for you to get 400 people saved. Cornelius got it done in ONE DAY!

Do you get the difference? Generosity accelerates the process! It can get your spouse saved. It can get your workmates saved. It can get your entire family saved in one day! 400 people saved in one day, and having all of them speaking in tongues my friend is something whose magnitude I can never help you comprehend! But these 400 could be your family today! It could be your hometown or district!

Ahhh, choose to believe it!

Keep working to be wealthier…for wealth wins souls!

Happy praying and giving!
