By what lens do you see God through?

Gloria Copeland said,

“…More than 50 years ago when Oral Roberts started preaching that God is a good God, it made most preachers mad—especially Full Gospel preachers.

But it was the revolutionary news that God is a good God that brought about the great healing revival of the late ’40s. Until then, most people didn’t know God wanted to do them good. They had been told it was God who made them sick. They had been told He put pain and disease in their bodies to teach them something. Many had been told that sometimes it simply was not God’s will to heal them, and some that God never heals today.

Imagine how shocked those people were when Brother Roberts first made his bold proclamation that God is a good God and He wants you well.

As a result of that proclamation, people’s attitude toward healing began to change. Faith began to rise up in their hearts. Then great miracles began to take place.

Before that time, most people were afraid of God. When you’re in fear, it’s impossible to open up your heart to God. It’s hard to receive anything good from a God you can’t trust.”

If you see God as a punisher indeed, that mindset will prevent you from receiving from Him. If you see Him as a lover, as a good father, as a provider, as an able-to-do, exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think, then you’re in for a marvelous treat.

The guy is going to shower you with love and every good gift that you’d could ever ask for. It all begins with believing that He’s a good God and He’s a rewarder of all that seek Him, and see Him through the new testament lens; a gracious God, and not one standing with flaring nostrils, bloodshot eyes and a whip clad with thorns!

Approach His throne boldly, without an ounce of fear! You’ll receive whatsoever you need!
