What are you seeing today? What have you SET your eyes to behold? There’s a powerful story in Genesis 30 for us to learn from.
Genesis 30:37-39 Now Jacob took for himself rods of green poplar and of the almond and chestnut trees, peeled white strips in them, and exposed the white which [was] in the rods. And the rods which he had peeled, he set before the flocks in the gutters, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, so that they should conceive when they came to drink. So the flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted.

So this is what happened. Jacob removed barks of trees exposing the white underneath…and when black sheep mated with the white… This was the outcome… A black sheep that appeared as if part of its black skin had been torn off in a patch exposing the white underneath, just like the tree above.

The watering troughs represent a place of reflection & meditation. When the sheep saw the branches, that image stuck in their mind as they drank from the water. The water reflected their humble faces but in their mind, the streaked branch intersected with their reflection…making them see it and their faces at the same time!
Have you ever looked into the sun, or a bulb for a long time, when you turn away, a virtual image of the bulb continues to appear in your eyes for some minutes though later it slowly fades away. Now when you look in a mirror, both that image and your reflection appear in your eye.
Your face can be hidden by the bulb image for sometime. Now that’s what happened to the ship. This is such a powerful principle that when the sheep mated, what had been a simple act of vision & meditation became flesh and came forth as their own offspring!
We conceive and give birth to what we continually see and meditate on. Look at the world and you’ll bear fruit of loss, pain, anger, dissatisfaction, want and lust. Look at God’s word, and you’ll bear fruit of great exploits, great peace, love, joy and goodness!
TV Series today have no caution. Yes even if it’s RATED R, the internet is allover. A child of 12 can still access that show on his or her own personal gadget.
I’ve fallen victim of low moral shows today. What others watch at home, I join them innocently. Next thing you know all sorts of vulgar language is shooting out the screen.
While yet in high school, I never used such language at all. Yes, I’m still holy by the righteousness of faith, but recently I found myself cussing… using a word that had been used in one or three movies I’d watched recently.
A cousin of mine thinks it’s cool to say those ‘f’ words… I’ve disciplined him, promising punishment the next time I hear such another word. But that’s only here, how about when he goes to school, I won’t be there to threaten him.
At this point I’ve come to make a hard decision not to watch certain movies. Once a profane word is uttered in the first minutes, EJECT must be the command the DVD responds to!
This is what the bible calls ‘work out your own salvation by fear and trembling….’ Why? It’s not just quoting ‘Do not let unwholesome talk proceed from your mouth’ as Ephesians 4:29 says. We have to put in some work by restricting what we watch.
You have to keep your lips from speaking such (Psalm 34:13) and by keeping, you must AVOID watching agents of such speech! Otherwise unbeknownst to you, the language gets registered in the linguist part of your brain, making that another language that you know! Such is of the world… And remember you are not of the world!
That aside, there’s another side to the story. See this view of a vision I had.
One Wednesday as I prayed, I appeared in the Throne Room. I’ve learnt (basing on my experiences with The Spirit) that in the Sea of Glass there is only one reflection; God on His Throne. Even when anyone else comes close.
Now as I worshipped, all bowed, I noticed in my eyes the reflection of this crystal sea. It affected my eyes, it’s all I could see, and remember the sea continually reflects God.
That reflection remained even after I left The Throne Room. And people kept saying, ‘What’s that in your eyes?’ Many drew close to see, and there was evidence that God was in my eyes.
The Sea in the vision represents The Word Of God! (2 Cor 3:18)
Now like the sheep, imagine the people inquiring about my eyes continually looking at them, and meditating on what they see. They too can conceive and give birth to the Word, for that’s what I’ll be issuing.
At some point in life, your eyes have to impart! They have to be able to speak to a non-believer and stir up the hunger for God!
Such are the things that made Moses’ face shine with glory. Many people won’t know where to find God, but they’ll find Him in your eyes… And remember your eyes have been continually in THE WORD!
Jesus never performed any miracle without eye contact with the victim. Think about it! His eyes were able to look at the sick or leper or limbless, with boldness and command expulsion of askewness.
Do you know how hard it could have been for Peter, if he had no Word Of God in His eyes? He’d not have had that courage to look at the cripple and cause restoration in his skeletal system!
Men who have had the striped branches of The Word before their eyes as they drank continually from the troughs of meditation are those who are BOLD and can easily carry out Great Exploits as Daniel 12:3 states!
I ask this question again as I conclude. What are you seeing today! What are you looking at today? Behold God and you’ll conceive God. Behold His word and you’ll conceive His Word!
Do men see God’s Word when they look at your eyes?
What am I beholding.. Biggie forgive the child π€£π€£
