Loooooong Before… (A Poem)

Long before you knew about the wrath of God, He sent about the breath of God. He never was mad at you. He was mad about you!

Long before you knew you had needs, in His very own word of He bids, followed by a plethora of His deeds, that He’d go against the normal to send you feeds.

Long before you knew you’d to heed to His lead, and not to wallow in thy vain works to collect reeds, He sent you a seed, which in your heart you had to plant, and guard against weeds.

Long before you knew about the truth, as you tarried as Adam’s brood, even then I loved thee, never minding the fruit… I wrought behind the scenes, as I sculpted you a groom.

Loooong before ye were formed in your mother’s womb, I knew thee. Every time you get a comb for to comb, I note any hair that falls. You’re a bomb, and as such you’ve got me hooked!

Long before the enemy thought about prowling to come steal your glee, I already set the blessing on you that causes him in seven different ways to flee!

Long before I formed the earth, in me you came! In the palm of my hands I have a tatoo of your name. I behold it every time I touch my face! When I turn whichever way, I still behold the same.

I set full any valley that was in your way. I clobbered any mountain that withstood your ray. Just like John the Baptist prepared for Christ as in a bay, I did that for you too; burning all hay in your destiny’s lay.

I’ve never left you nor forsaken you. O how my heart groans that you’d trust me. For long before you knew you needed children, I thrust them into you.

Long before you knew you needed a savior I sent you one. Long before you knew you needed a spouse I got clay and mud and roused you one! Long before you cried for a job, I pried and spied the cosmos. I unwried the entire universe to you; command what you will!

Long before you knew me, you were much on my mind. Even yet as a sinner, I loved you! How much more now that you know me? Dinner will be the order of the day! I’m glad you gave me chance…for out of you I’ll make, more than a winner!
