Light Defines Time

In the beginning, the earth was void. Later on when God’s spirit hovered over the earth, God created the Light and separated it from the darkness.

Verses later, God makes other lights. The sun to rule over day and the moon & stars to rule over the night. Notice that the darkness also receives stars and the moon to rule over it; representing Christians to RULE in this world’s fallen governments and to take leadership in the kingdoms of this world, until they become the kingdoms of our God.

The sun to rule the day represents Christ being the source of the light of the daylight (us). You’ve heard that the moon reflects light from the sun. That means even those who rule the night obtain their light from the true light.

An example to this could be a friend or you, who says you are born again, but your job is among the heathens. Yes, hang in there. You’re a Light there. Your presence guarantees a channel through which salvation could reach any of those workmates!

The daylight represents Christians in the church. This is where the psalmist quotes ‘In your light, we see light.'(Psalm 36:9) Meaning we are Daylight, but the light of the Daylight comes from the sun!

The sun is His word! Its entrance brings light (Psalm 119:130) That means: No word, No light!

Now that aside, we can see how light affects time in many areas in the bible. First we have that time when Joshua was fighting in Joshua 10, and he commanded the sun to stand still. That literally meant if it was midday, it remained midday for the next 12 hours until they won the battle as demonstrated in verse 13,

“So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. [Is] this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go [down] for about a whole day.”

We’ve all seen the moon rise while the sun was still up. Remember the sun rules the day; and the moon—the night. Joshua stood in between both day and night hindering any from progress!

This is figurative of Proverbs 18:21 The power of death and life are in our tongues. We can either allow life (light) to proceed or death (darkness) to take over!

Next we see Isaiah, after pronouncing judgement over Hezekiah in 2 Kings 19 to 20. Here, God was made to turn back time 10 degrees back on the sundial. The sundial was a kind of clock used back in the day. 10 degrees could have been an hour ago.

How it told time was by a gnomon (that sharp looking part) casting a shadow from the sun, and wherever it fell emphasized the hour of day.

My emphasis is the shadow. How can a shadow be except as an outcome by light hitting that gnomon and unto the dial? It’s by the sun. See, indirectly, the sun rose backward for perhaps an hour (10 degrees) to sort of undo what Isaiah had prophesied.

Now, when we speed fast forward into the new testament, Jesus makes things sweeter… Get ready! He says…

“Ye are the light of the world,” (Matthew 5:14.)

What does this mean? This means you define time! You can determine time! Time never existed on earth until God said ‘Let there be Light…’ Take away the light and time will cease!

This is the evidence that we can define time;

As God took me around this revelation, I found contradictory tales in the Bible. In many parts, we see scenarios where no sun or moon shows up but time continues to cycle. Remember when darkness covered the earth as a plague in Egypt, it’s said it went on for three days.

How did the three days run, without the sun or moon? How did the sundial tell time? That led me to a different dimension in God by Him! He said,

“The Light that Defines time is that which is Eternal!”

That means the lights that rule the day and night came from an Eternal Light that rules not only the light and darkness on the earth, but both the physical and spiritual realms.

This means God can define time both in the Physical and the Spiritual. He can say ‘It’s time!’ in the Spiritual, and it can suddenly become that time in the physical as well. Here is the good news. You are made of the same substance as God. He is made of Light (the Eternal Light) and as He is so are you! (1 John 4:17)

That means you can manipulate Chronos using Kairos. Chronos is the Greek word that means earthly (sequential) time. Kairos means spiritual time (Time of God’s purpose/ time of His spirit). Day & Night will continue normally on earth but you can choose to interrupt them.

Joshua grasped Kairos, out of the Heavenly realm and used it to suspend Chronos. Remember Spiritual time isn’t time. It doesn’t move. It’s forever! There’s no clock available. It’s a vacuum for God is Spirit and time exists not in vacuum. It is like REwatching a movie on a computer; one can forward, play normally, or rewind!

Let me clarify Joshua’s implementation;

During my Physics classes (probably yours too), it was proven that the sun doesn’t move but it is the earth that moves around it. That means Joshua did not actually stop the sun, he stopped the earth from spinning! Now once one planet stops moving and the others continue moving, an astronomical catastrophe betides!

The entire cosmic system in the galaxy would face dysfunction if one unit of it malfunctions. Allow me demonstrate this by the structure of an atom!

The nucleus represents the sun and the electrons—the planets. Those electrons are always moving around the nucleus as it forms whatever composition it is. It could be a hydrogen atom, which has two electrons. If any electron is lost or stops moving, that atom loses its identity.

It either forms something else (a compound) or it loses it self in general. Imagine the earth acted likewise. Our galaxy would have lost itself altogether, for the solar system operates in the same way as an atom.

God wouldn’t let that happen! Earth is the only thing that bears humans. Thus, when Joshua stopped the earth, all other planets had to stop moving as well to prevent such a catastrophe.

Also…I’d relate this to a clock.

If I asked you what’s a minute, you’d say, it is a set of 60 seconds. That means the seconds define the minutes, and the minutes hours. For what’s an hour without minutes, and what’s a minute without seconds! Long ago, clocks were made in such a way that if the second hand stopped moving, the minute one would not, and if it did malfunction as well, the hour one would stall!

Remember when this happened in your home? What was the remedy? Most cases, it was an outage in the energy provided by the battery cell. And we all know that light is energy. This was just an allegory to show that light (energy in the battery) defines time (clock’s moving). Usually when the battery was replaced, (or recharged) everything went back to normal. Time was fixed. (You’re the light of your world first, recharge yourself and the time of your world will be fixed)

The earlier exegesis is explicated by this as well. The earth was like that second hand. It stopped moving, so all others had to. Indirectly, it had the ‘energy’, which was Joshua ‘the light of the world’… The sun now couldn’t be the actual source momentarily, for one in whom the greater Light was had spoken. When you work on your identity as light, and have exercised your energy in your world, then you can go on to transform the world at large.

I digress…

Kairos has no shall or was. It’s all is. God exists in such a dimension whereby yesterday, today and forever are all in front of him at the same time. History, the present and the future are all reachable to Him but since we are in our bodies the only thing that’s reachable to us is the present!

God can enable us to operate like him by our spirits, for they are the same as His (1 Cor 6:17) This means, we can visit the past or the future by Spirit despite our bodies. That’s why Kairos is called The Time Of The Purpose of God or (some sources say) The Time Of The Spirit.

What Joshua did was; he suspended time and made the earth experience No Time. He got rid of Chronos for over 12 hours and subjected the earth to Kairos by His Word!

Do you know what he actually did?

He suspended aging. For some hours people were subjected unto eternity. This particular day wasn’t just 24 hours, it could’ve been 36 or 48 and yet no one felt its longevity effect! That’s the power you hold in your tongue!

The conclusion is; It’s not just any light that defines time! It’s the Eternal Light! God was that Light and He turned back the sun to save Hezekiah. You too are that Light! Just like Joshua, you can uproot anything and it shan’t remain with roots.

You can declare it’ll shine all your life and it shall shine. This could mean you’ll look younger even in your old age and because you’ve mentioned it in Kairos, it manifests in Chronos.

Since this Light defines time, you can decide how long a situation can be. You can decide how long a pandemic will stay. (Remember even darkness has the moon and stars to rule it!)

You can decide when that dream job will find you. You can decide when that business will launch. You can decide when the drought of poverty will cease! You can decide when that marriage will happen! You can decide when your womb must conceive child!

Why? You are the Light of the world, and Light defines Time. Joshua’s story shows that he was not just any light…but a light of the world, in that He commanded it to halt its movements even if he didn’t know he had! Nevertheless He decided that time should stop!

Being the Light of the World means you hold power to tolerate what should or should not happen on earth!

Likewise, God decided when to deal with all your sin. He decided when creation would begin. He decided when to bless you. He defined his time dimension. Why? He’s Light (1 John 1:5)

Decide today what must end in your life! Decide today what must begin in your life! Decide today (and NOW) what you want to see in this world. For you are its light! And it’s waiting with groaning for your manifestation as a son of God who understands His or Her responsibility and mandate as its Light and Definer of its Time!

It’s Time for you to SPEAK what you’ve decided to see (with this understanding & revelation)

GO!

  1. Wooo this is so deep. Joshua actually stopped the earth from moving. Oh my goodness, the sun in itself was hard enough. Kairos, chronos. Thanks for these deep revelations. God take you even deeper
