Have you ever been in between a rock and a hard place? Do you wonder ‘why problems’? Do you feel under attack! I am here to answer these questions today!
July was rather harsh on my side. Earlier in the year I was used to receiving lump some amounts of cash. Work was good! You would say I’d made it! Suddenly, all seemed to freeze.
It was as though a child cut off by their parents. The credit cards become useless… And as usual I looked at God and asked… Dad are you doing this?
O well, it’s the Holy Spirit that led Jesus to the wilderness!
At this moment, God educated me. You see usually, when all is going well, we quote all beautiful scriptures! We are Rich! Yes, Christ became poor so that we could be rich! That’s when the paper is rolling up & break dancing its way to your wallet!
But then…. ‘Alas,’ becometh your new exclamation! And the scripture that knocks on the door of thine lips is All things work out… But you shut it up right there!
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have [its] perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
God made me meditate on this portion for weeks. It was hard, of course, to find the joy. It was recently when He disclosed the reason for the season.
He said, “You’re here to be tested: the confession of your faith.”
In Hebrews 10:23, The word states that let the confession of your faith be without wavering, for He who promised is faithful! That simply means, if I confessed that wealth and riches are in my house (Psa 112:3) when I was receiving lump some amounts of cash in April, that confession ought to persevere….
It has to endure and be spoken even when there’s no evidence of the wealth and riches. Wavering means I’ll change it to ‘Oh no I’m broke! I have no cash!’ which will contradict with God’s word!
This applies to you. Do you change your confession in the wilderness? Do you forsake God’s promises at that moment? Do you turn his yea and amen to nay and omen? That’s why such moments come!
To test the communication of your faith through the acknowledgement of every good thing that’s in Christ, by your tongue!
The final reason as to why such moments come our way is to test the word! It’s Exam time! We should pick a leaf out of our education system. The exam shows how much we’ve understood during the class sessions!
You’ve been reading the word, yes! Now it’s time for you to understand which word to apply where, and when!

Soldiers go through multiple training but a time comes when they have to apply all that they’ve been taught how to do! And that’s on the battlefield! When it’s all over, there are medals awaiting them; Medals of Honor
These moments are you on the field! In the process of testing you, you test God’s word, and the end result is your refining and its trusting!
Isaiah 48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
And do you know what refine means? It means, to remove impurities or unwanted elements from (a substance), typically as part of an industrial process...
Notice removal of impurities is as well metaphoric for pruning and weeding as mentioned in John. During these harsh moments, God takes away unwanted & unfruitful branches from you.
Notice also that trials are not necessarily the same as problems. But either way, each will try to steal God’s word from you as mentioned in the Parable of the sower! Don’t let His word GO!
These moments give you an opportunity to exercise the Word and your faith! They are temporary, for as I speak now, my harsh moment is over. The cash is back! I passed my exam!
All who God loves will go through such. It’s part of his training program for Christ-Soldiers. All his children go through this. It’s part of His way of bringing up his kids: He calls it disciplining!
But the good news is, every after such a moment, you graduate, you get a medal, you’ve been tried and God trusts you more, and entrusts you with more, all in preparation for your divine purpose!
That’s why we ought to count it all joy!
