The Holy Spirit: Your Personal Assistant!

I am so sure we all struggle with planning events and meetings! But who’s a Personal Assistant!

A personal assistant, also referred to as personal aide is a job title describing a person who assists a specific person with their daily business or personal tasks.

An assistant helps with time and daily management & scheduling of meetings. The role of a personal assistant can be varied, such as answering phone calls, taking notes, scheduling meetings, emailing, texts etc.

In business or personal contexts, assistants are people who provide services that relieve his or her employer from the stress of tasks that are associated with managing one’s personal and/or business life.

They assist with a variety of life management tasks, including running errands, arranging travel. (Now the Holy Spirit may not buy the travel tickets himself, but will encourage you to have a vacation), He can remind you special occasions like birthdays etc.

Assistants often act as the manager’s first point of contact with people from both inside and outside the organization.

Which leaves me with a question? When someone or people propose anything, do you immediately jump with a yes, or do you consult the Holy Spirit?

When they say Date that girl! Do you get your finances together first, or do you take Him as your first point of contact?

(Don’t say I over spiritualize everything. My friend you might not like to pamper me when I get into a heartbreak, but the idea was yours in the first place!)

Other tasks PAs do, but are not limited to include;

• Screening phone calls, inquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate; In this context, this means Not everyone is allowed or worthy to be your friend!

• Making appointments; In this context, yes with your clients, (He’ll propose a perfect time when your client is free enough to give you all attention) With your spouse for that weekly date, with your children for family time and with God for a heavenly time!

• Dealing with incoming email, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of the manager; Meaning…He will or allow him to deal with the hate mail people throw at you! Before you respond, let Him respond on your behalf! Let him!

• Carrying out background research and presenting findings: Is it a new business idea you’d like to carry out? Ask him His view. You see the guy has been around since before time, I’m sure He’s seen a billion businesses rise and fall or rise and rise!

• Producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations; He’ll give you enticing words & great ideas (Isa 50:4)…the exact words you’ll need to win that bid!

• Ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings; Self Explanatory!

• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff; I always ask Him to get me customers, and He does such a pretty job! My business has been trending on Twitter!

• Taking on some of the manager’s responsibilities and working more closely with management; When it comes to this I think about children! Your children when you drop them at school…you might trust the children’s in-charge but they may not always be around!

Relax! He’s gat this! Surrender them unto Him, and you’ll tell me if He’s not such a good babysitter!

• Being involved in decision-making processes! This sums it all up; It’s like the summary of all the above —

Decisions to make are so many, but God has the last decision! (Prov 16:9, 19:21) Decisions to make include;

Should I leave this job? Should I take that job? Should I go to Mombasa or Paris? Should I marry her? Should I marry Him? Should I rent this space? Should I buy that 700k shoe?

Should I apply to this school? Should I have sex now? Should I get another child right away? Should I start this business? Should I save?—how much? Where from the bible should I read?

Where can I take my family out for dinner? Where shall I build my dream home? How can I bless him or her? How can I serve my church? Which phone should I buy? What car should I buy? What gift ought I buy Etc..

One thing I have discovered is, the more you let in The Holy Spirit into every decision and choice of your life, the more He gets you involved in the decisions of Heaven!

Don’t let the weights of this world weigh you down. Cast your cares unto Him, for He cares for you affectionately!

Prayer; Dear Holy Spirit. I love you. I invite you to be my official personal assistant, from now on unto forever!…I know you’re as good as they say! Thank you…
