I’m an artist, and I feel like that is what gives me an advantage in how to relate with God…for He was the first artist who made art came to life!
He created Art!
I make them in various sizes, these masterpieces… And yet I feel the smallest of them all are so cheap.
God told me ”You don’t get it!”
He then gave me vision to see as he sees!
The small art pieces came to life and the Big ginormous ones as well.
‘This is what you see.” God said.
The tiny artpiece said to the big one ”Why art thou so fat and so big. You can’t even shift thineself. If ye try, ye will fall on thine face!”
The Big framed wall hanging became frantic and brusque and replied the small one…
“O ye little thing! On the map you’re but a dot! The wind itself can blow thee away and though fat I am, I can squash you with my very weight!”
I watched on… God then came to the art pieces and waved his hand! Their paint was gone! Their color vanished in a wink. They were all but plain paper and an empty frame!
Then God asked me,
“What became of them?”
“Their life is gone! Their very being…what they composed of…the art…it’s all gone!” I said
“Exactly,” he added while he came to sit next to me.” You see, its you the artist that gives value to the art pieces! Without your hand they are nothing! So it doesn’t matter whether their size is small or big! What matters is your creative gifted hand! These art pieces are like my people, if they’d only see my signature on each other, comparison would cease! And satisfaction prevail!”
“Watch this…” God added as he counter waved his hand again.
The art, color and letters on my art pieces returned, and knowing what they’d done earlier, they started afresh.
“Hey…is that, is that the same signature as mine!”
“Yes, yes…” the tiny art piece, hopped in the air… “We were made by the same dope guy!”
“Wow, am E…”
“Cool name E… I am L! Nice to meet you!”
Then their conversation grew into the night…
Then God turned to me..
“If you saw that everyone had my signature engraved on them, you’d be moved by an inward compassion & satisfaction, that even if they look different (but not more handsome than you) they have the mark of excellence—And all the envy, the jealousy and coveteousness will cease! For one can not be more handsome than you, if they all are an original and the only copy there is!”
Moral: If say you’ve found someone of such a countenance or radiant beauty, and you have not gotten there yet, instead of envying, say to yourself, “We both Have God’s signature! He loves us both the same much! If He painted that person that well, I’m sure He did the exact same to me!”
For I (as an artist) know, that before I place my signature on any masterpiece, I toil, I fearfully and carefully ensure the piece is exquisite, and then, only then, can I add my signature to concrete that it is wonderfully made!
