Proverbs 2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
I want us to concentrate on the last half of the verse. It says understanding shall keep you. Well, one day, I was going for work as an intern. I saw a face from church. I knew the person, even if it wasn’t that much, but I knew to a part that I would not fail to say hello. Well, I acted like I hadn’t seen her.
Taxis were hard to find. All that came by were full. And so, someone driving himself, in a private car came by and picked up the lady from church. It was clear they had not planned to meet, the man in the car passed by, by luck I must say. They greeted and I heard him ask, ‘can I drop you off?’ She said ‘Please. The taxis are unavailing.’ She shut the door and off they went leaving me stuck there for one more hour or so.
“Had you greeted her, you’d both be in that car, and on time for work.” A voice that I’d relate must have been the Holy spirit’s, said. I wished I’d turn back time, but I couldn’t. I learnt my lesson. We pretend not having seen people we know just because we don’t want to bother knowing how they are doing. But let understanding keep you. If all factors are favorable, please, say hi, or check on them. And even if you’re driving, and you meet someone you know, stop by, greet them perhaps, and see how it goes.
You’d be their biggest blessing that day, by giving them a lift or they’d be your biggest blessing, by giving you a lift.
Prayer: Thank you God for this piece of information I’ve learned, and may I put it in continual practice. Knowing that I’d make someone’s day, or them I. Thank you that we are blest to be blessings, and so shall we be, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
